First Board

My first board. I shaped and glassed it myself last year with much advise from Swaylocks. It was a great experience and its gotten me hooked. I now try to shape 2 or 3 boards a month if I can find the time. I would recommend every surfer try to shape a board once in their life.

I find you notice every little thing about a wave when you ride your own equipment. You are focusing so much on the details of your shape and trying to think of ways to improve it. It makes you super aware. I never felt that feeling riding a off the rack board, or even a custom shaped by someone else. If you try it you will see what I mean.

5'8" Quad Fish

5'8" Canard Fish that I shaped earlier in the year. I'll be sure to bring it to the NJ Fish Fry!!

I didn't have much free time this weekend, but I did get the fins glassed on on the Bonzer I've been working on. So, a little sanding around the fins and it will be ready for the hotcoat. I'm going to try the Resin-X 'Fast' formula for the hotcoat instead of the 'Slow' I've been using to laminate. Big thanks to Matt @ 3CD for the tips and help. I'm loving the Resin-X.

Is it 1982 again?

Not exactly as I planned, but still pretty cool. 6'1" epoxy quad with a crazy resin tint. Doesn't surf too bad either.
